The Met Gala is the annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute, happening this evening, in New York City where A-List Celebs, top Models & the who’s who of the fashion, film, & entertainment industry, dress up in some cool duds and rock THE red carpet fashion event of the East Coast. Each year, there is a theme that dictates the guest’s attire for the evening. This year it’s Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.
We’ve certainly seen some fun nail looks for this event over the years created by some brilliant nail artists. Here, we show you some of our favorite, stand-out, nail moments of the Met Galas from the recent past.
LA Nail Artist Kimmie Kyees, created these gold, studded beauties for Katy Perry
Alexa Chung had requested nails that looked like a rubber tire for the 2012 met gala. Our very own, Tracylee, used several textured top coats to create the exact look she wanted!
Tracylee gave some sisterly nail love to Kate & Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte and their guests, Elle & Dakota Fanning
Tracylee created for Dakota, a matte black nail look with silver embellishments that complimented her gorgeous Rodarte gown
Rita Ora blinged out her tips with some gold leaf foil and we drooled a little
Kimmie Kyees nailed it again with these fun Moschino nail dangles last year on Katy Perry
Tracylee created a fade to black, ombre nail to match Olivia Munn’s J Mendel Gown created ooohs & aaahs with her matchy matchy look

With a technology theme this year, I’m curious if we will see some 3D, or computer inspired nail looks or maybe even Steve Jobs face on a nail….( we can only hope!) Which is your favorite Met Gala nail moment??
